This 38-minute program focuses on long-term recovery goals related to work, money, school and recreation. It shows how building a satisfying, well-rounded life is the best relapse prevention. Also illustrated are the relapse traps clients run into when dealing with work, money, school and recreation--and how to overcome them. The main teaching points include:

* The importance of getting and keeping work

 * Strategies for coping with relapse traps on job

 * Dealing with financial stress and money management

 * Furthering education (examples from acquiring literacy to going to college)

* Service: Giving back to the community

* Having fun clean and sober

* Reclaiming long-term dreams

Part Two: "Managing a Craving"

Dr. Nuckols addresses the memory of drug use, dopamine, common craving triggers and craving management. He also discusses changing behaviors, realizing that you can overcome your addiction and improve 80-90% of your life and the importance of developing a safety plan.

Part Four: "Getting Connected"

Dr. Nuckols discusses how you connected in life through drugs and then explains three types of recovery connections

Part Three: "Telling Your Story"

Dr. Nuckols explains how your past consists of the ingredients that make you who you are today. Breaking old patterns opens up new possibilities that will allow you to break away from old destructive behaviors. He discusses the importance of telling your story to help you understand where you came from and where you are now.

Stage II Recovery Series is comprised of four parts. The basics of recovery; what we must do to understand ourselves in order to enjoy a rich and fulfilling existence. Identify and correct learned self-defeating behaviors such as care-taking, people-pleasing and workaholism. Teaches dynamics of healthy/unhealthy relationships. Working a Program: Teaches a consistent program that involves dialogue, positive redirection, proper nutrition and daily/weekly practices.
