Anger Management

Anger management is a psycho-therapeutic program for anger prevention and control. Anger is frequently a result of frustration, or of feeling blocked or thwarted from something the subject feels is important. Anger can also be a defensive response to underlying fear or feelings of vulnerability or powerlessness. Anger is a destructive force that impacts others.

In a powerful anger management program, a therapist or counselor can help explain the various types and forms of anger, like passive/ aggressive behavior, caustic remarks, verbal abuse, blaming, guerilla humor, anger with authority, retaliatory anger, blind rage, anger as an excuse, isolation, and depression. Anger management programs help clients discover that destructive behaviors are connected to a pattern of thoughts, beliefs, and feelings. Learning to understand each of these, along with awareness of body responses, provides valuable early warning to anger. Additionally, at anger management clients learn many effective alternatives and practical skills which give them the power to make new choices – and create a different life.
