Guy Wheeler is a nationally known consultant with over 20 years of experience with in-jail and outpatient drug treatment programs, working with dually diagnosed patients, persons with HIV/AIDS, and domestic violence perpetrators.
Before establishing his own company, Wheeler served as Administrator and Assistant Director of the Broward Sheriff's Office Department of Community control. Wheeler championed Broward County's first in-custody jail treatment program with ATACC in 1989, and pioneered the third Drug Court Treatment Outpatient Program in America. This program has received extensive local, state and national recognition for its uniqueness. The National Association of Drug Court Professionals recognized it as a "Mentor Court"; James McDonough, Florida's Drug Czar, called Broward's Drug Court "The Hope Diamond" of Drug Courts. Former National Drug Czar, General Barry McCaffrey, presented the program with a special recognition award in 1998.
